LESTER FRANK FUHRMAN

Lester Frank Fuhrman, son of Frank and Caceilie Fuhrman, was born June 6, 1917, on a farm near Cleghorn, Cherokee county, Iowa. He passed away suddenly following an accident Thursday, September 18, 1952, at the age of 35 years, 3 months, and 12 days.

On March 27, 1921, he was baptized in the Cleghorn Presbyterian church. As a young man, he engaged in farming with his father in Sheridan Township. On February 15, 1939 he was united in marriage to Erma Woltman. In the Spring of 1942, they moved to a farm in Spring Township near Sutherland, Iowa, which they purchased and where they have made their home. To this union four children were born, Kenneth, 11, Shirley, 10, Janet, 8, and Wayne, 6.

His father preceded him in death in 1949. With his wife and children, other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Frank Fuhrman, two sisters, Mrs. Fred Ducommun and Lamerne Fuhrman, and two brothers, Clarence and Waiter Fuhrman all of Cleghorn.

Services were held at St. Paul's Methodist church in Cherokee with Rev. Leonard Rowse minister of the Sutherland Methodist church officiating, and burial in Oak Hill cemetery. Miss Marjorie Wilcox and Mrs. William Ehmcke sang two numbers; "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere " and "We Shall Sleep but Not Forever," accompanied by Mrs. Ivan Bushlow. Pallbearers were Russel Parks, Merle Anderson, Wm. Caldwell, Harry Fuhrman, Carl Fuhrman and Alfred Fuhrman. A large numb r of relatives and friends attended from this vicinity and many from various points in South Dakota.
