Aurelia Sentinel: Glen Irwin, the 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mummert living seven miles north of town, died Sunday morning about 4 o’clock after being operated on about nine o’clock Saturday evening for appendicitis.

The little fellow was taken sick Wednesday but his condition was not considered serious until Saturday when they sent for Dr. Jepson of Sioux City to operate on him, but it was of no avail as bursting of the appendix had already occurred.

Glen was a beautiful lad, so manly and noble that his place among his little friends will be g realty missed while the boyhood chumming with his brother to whom he was so attached will be a void nothing of this world can fill. The grief stricken family have the sympathy of all in this time of deep sorrow.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home and at 3 o’clock in the Methodist church at Afton, and the remains laid to rest in the Afton cemetery to await the calling of the Savior who has said to so many through the years, “Suffer the little children.”
