Clayton Huxford, after a lingering illness of several months duration, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. M. Huxford, on Friday morning, the 22d inst. The funeral services were held at the family residence on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. D. Brainard of St. John’s church, assisted by Rev. W. A. Evans. A large number of friends, and especially young people, gathered to pay the last tribute of respect and followed the remains to their final resting place in Oak Hill.

Clayton was 22 years of age, and being a member of one of the oldest resident families was well known. Until stricken down with the disease which resulted in his death, he was a vigorous robust young man, and his untimely taking off brings to the hearts of friends that peculiar sadness usual upon the death of young persons of his age. It is another fitting reminder that even the midst of life we are in death. The family have the sympathy of a host of friends in their great bereavement
