Elon Kamradt, Marcus Farmer, Passes Away
Elon Kamradt, 71, prominent Amherst township farmer, passed away Saturday at LeMars hospital.
Mr. Kamradt was a long time resident of this community and had a large circle of friends and acquaintance.
Eldon August Leo Kamradt was born November 2, 1882, in Weschetzien Kreis Neu Stadt, West Prussia, Germany. He came to this community with his parents, August and Hennrieta Kamradt, when he was five-years old and spent nearly all of his life in this community. He was baptized in 1882 and confirmed by the late J. D. Hesse in 1906.
Mr. Kamradt was united in marriage in Emma Mayer January 17, 1906. To this union five children were born, two of which died in infancy and Elmer in 1951.
The deceased is survived by two sons, Walter, at home, and Herbert of Quimby, and two grandsons. He is also mourned by four brothers, Herman of Spencer, Paul of La Porte, Ind., Otto of Sioux City, and Rudolph of Akron.
Pallbearers were Carl, Leland and Albert Grauer, Alfred and Henry Dorr and Albert Krekow.
