Her husband died in Cherokee March 23, 1879.
Ten children survive her Mrs. Nancy Jones, Jemima Hitchcock, Ann Souter and J. W. Underhill, of Cherokee, Iowa, Mrs. Jane Boles, of Brownsville, Oregon, S. J. Underhill, of Artesian, S. Mrs. Underhill was converted and became a member of the M. E. church about seventy years ago and remained a member of that church hereafter.
All of her children except Mrs. Boles and Mrs. McManus were present when the summons came. The funeral conducted by the Rev. Gilbert was held from the M. E. church yesterday at 2 p. m. and the interment was in Oak Hill where she rests beside her husband united in death after a widowhood of twenty-six years.

Mrs. Underhill was a woman of strong individuality and a most capable businesswoman caring for her estate with rare ability. She was strong in her devotion to her church and shile for some years she has been too feeble to take a very active part she will be held in loving remembrance by those who in early days were building up the then weak church. "A mother in Israel has departed."
