William 'Bill' Eiler

Looking for any info on my Great-grandfather William Eiler b. 1888 d. 1971. m.1908 to Geneva Ruark b. 1877 d. 1951 He was a WWI Vet.
They had 2 children Fred and Juanita. The story that has been told was that he came to the US at age of 3 with another familly from Germany. After his parents were killed in Germany he was adopted. He lived in Cerro Gordo Co. most of his adult life and also in Greely Colorado in the 1910 Census. According to the 1925 Iowa census records he lists his parents as JR Eiler and Helen Marie Smidt. Does anyone have him in their records? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
