Mason City — Kimberly Ann McLaughlin, 32, of 411 22nd St S.W., Mason City, died Thursday (March 11, 2004) at Fairview- University Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Michael J. Podhasky, officiating. Private interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St N.E., Mason City, where a Scriptural wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.

Kimberly Ann McLaughlin was born April 19, 1971, at Luke Air Force Base, Glendale, Ariz., a daughter of Thomas and Mary Jo (Kiefer) Keenan. Moving to Iowa in 1979, Kim attended school at Oelwein, and was a 1989 graduate of Oelwein High School. She attended North Iowa Area Community College and later graduated from La James College, Mason City.

Kim was an instructor at La James College for two years. She joined Younker’s Hair Salon, Mason City and later became a counter manager for Estee Lauder in Younker’s cosmetic department. While at home, she enjoyed being a Mary Kay representative.

In 1998, Kim developed primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH) and was awaiting a double lung transplant. Over the years, she did much to raise organ donor awareness and upon her death, became a tissue donor. Kim and Todd placed many vending machines in the Mason City area, giving a portion of the proceeds to the Iowa Donor Network.

Kim devoted herself to spending time with her daughter, Taylor, and husband, Todd. Her friends were important to her and gave her much support, keeping her spirits up, with coffee get-togethers at favorite spots and games of Bunko.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City.

Kim is survived by her husband, Todd, and a daughter, Taylor, Mason City; her parents, Thomas and Mary Jo Keenan, Clear Lake; in-laws, Larry and Jean McLaughlin, Mason City; two brothers, Michael Keenan and his wife, Sharon, Grimes and Christopher Keenan and his wife Teri, Tiffin; maternal grandfather, Robert Kiefer, Clear Lake; a niece, Alison Keenan; a nephew, Sean Keenan; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Marjory Kiefer; and paternal grandparents, John and Edna Keenan.
