MASON CITY -- Lola Caroline Rowcliffe Duff, 92, passed away April 12, 2018. She was living at The Wellstead of Rogers in Rogers MN. She was surrounded by loving Methodist Hospital hospice and some very special Wellstead caregivers.

Lola was born on August 7, 1925 in Mason City Iowa. There she attended and graduated from Mason City High School. On April 4, 1947 she married Roy G. Duff. They had two children Karen and James.

In their early years, she worked part time for the Bell telephone company. She was an energetic and vibrant personality. She was actively involved in Cub/Boy and Brownie/Girl Scouts. Active in the Lutheran church where she taught Bible and Sunday school. Lola was especially artistic and creatively talented. She loved to paint. She designed and created beautiful crafts. She was a major contributor to the Sunshine Circle at Finley Hospital in Dubuque Iowa. She was an avid Bridge card player. She was a wonderful cook and baker.

Together with Roy they traveled often and to many wonderful places; they loved entertaining; and they nurtured many family members along the way. They blessed others with their generosity. She will be missed.

Lola is survived by her children; daughter Karen and Jonathan Dodge of Estero Florida; and son James and Jean Duff of Belleville Wisconsin; three grandchildren Joshua and (Christine) Duff, Janel and (James) Faust, Bryan and (Meghan) Duff. Great granddaughter Elizabeth Faust and Great grandson Kieran Duff. Two sisters-in-law Eythel Rowcliffe and Marilyn Gauthier, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lola was preceded in death by her husband Roy, her parents Willis and Elsa Rowcliffe; three sisters Harriett Ostermeier; Bonnie Willemsen and Ruth Cannon; brother Walter Rowcliffe; brothers -in-law Earl Ostermeier; Roy Bitterman; Marv Willemsen; and Melvin Cannon.

A family memorial service will be scheduled later this spring.
