John 'Jack' Robert Lohr June 9, 1942 - February 13, 2018

ROCKFORD - John “Jack” Robert Lohr, 76, of Carmel, IN and formerly of Rockford, IA passed away on February 13, 2018 at the Green House Cottages of Carmel in Carmel, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a one hour prior visitation on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Rockford, Iowa, at the First United Methodist Church. Pastor Dennis Burns will be officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Memory of John Lohr to the First United Methodist Church in Rockford, IA.

Jack was born on June 9, 1942 in Rockford, IA and graduated from RRMR High School in 1960 (the second class to graduate after consolidation). Jack graduated from the University of Iowa in June 1964. In August, Jack was drafted into the United States Army and became a military policeman at Fort Hood, TX. His MP battalion was deployed as peacekeepers during the historic civil rights march from Selma, Alabama in 1965. In the fall of 1966, Jack went to work for Osco Drug in Dubuque, IA and then to Chicago, IL in various management positions, including General Manager. Eventually moving to Indianapolis, IN, Jack retired from Osco Drug in 2002 after 37 years of dedicated service. Jack enjoyed reading novels, playing golf, watching and attending sporting events. He was a lifelong Iowa Hawkeyes and Indianapolis Colts Fan.

Those who will greatly miss and cherish Jack's memory are his daughter Jill (George) Nicolich, Carmel, IN; sisters Sharon Ginther, Fountain Hills, AZ and Bobbi (Bob) Stubbs, Fountain Hills, AZ. He is also survived by aunt Phyllis Brallier, Pasadena, CA, nephews Marty (Leann) Ginther and Scott (Debbie) Ginther, Rockford, IA, niece Laurie (Kevin) Carlson, Green Bay, WI, along with several cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews and former spouse and dear friend Judith Lohr, Carmel, IN.

Preceding Jack in death are his parents, Bob and Marlys Lohr, and brother Don Lohr.
