Margaret G. Levenhagen, 88, of Rockwell, Iowa, died Friday, July 22, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 502 Second St. S., Rockwell, with the Rev. Rhea Evanson officiating. Burial will be in Rockwell Cemetery, Rockwell.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church in Rockwell, and one hour prior to services. Memorials may be directed to the Margaret Levenhagen Memorial Fund.

Margaret Levenhagen was born May 27, 1928, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lupe (Martinez) Jimenez.

Margaret attended Grant School, Mason City. During the war Margaret met John Levenhagen at the Surf Ballroom; they were united in marriage on July 5, 1947; to this union five children were born.

Margaret worked at the Mason City Tent & Awning Company for a short time, and then was a stay-at-home mom raising her children. Later, she worked at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home for many years.

Margaret enjoyed her flowers, embroidery, watching her cooking shows and “The Young and the Restless,” baking and cooking. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and hosting many family picnics. Margaret was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Rockwell.

Margaret is survived by her children, William (Nancy) Levenhagen, Rockwell, Barbara Jones, Mason City, Debbie (Lee) Behr, Rockwell; son-in-law, Jerry Lorentzen (and special friend Connie Lunning), Rockwell; grandchildren, Joey (April) Jones, Kristie (Timothy) Zaiger, Mike (Karrie) Lorentzen, Troy (Chris) Levenhagen, Shawn Levenhagen, Dawn Rose, Taylor (Dylan) Williams, Josh Behr, and Justin Behr; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Deloris McDowall, Mason City; brothers, John Jimenez, Spirit Lake, Louise (Phil) Love, Dubuque, Jim Jimenez, Mason City, Ed Jimenez, Mason City, Ralph Jimenez, Fort Meyers, Florida.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, John Levenhagen; parents John and Lupe Jimenez; daughter, Nancy Lorentzen; son, Gary Levenhagen; son-in-law, Fred Jones; grandson, Matthew Lorentzen; brother, Thomas Jimenez; sisters, Gloria Bailey and Dorothy Jimenez; and a great-grandson, Jordan Beier.
