Paul W. Kitner, 83, of Mason City, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Paul W. Kitner was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Clear Lake, the son of John and Ethel (Finnegar) Kitner. Paul attended Clear Lake and Forest City Schools. He was united in marriage to Marlys Keller on Feb. 15, 1953, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, and to this union two children were born, Kim (Al) Conell and Tammy (Rodney) Graff. He entered into the Army on April 1, 1953, and served in the Korean War.

Paul worked at Mason City Brick and Tile for several years, Decker and Sons for 13 years as a ham boner, and in recent years he worked at Bonanza in Mason City.

Paul enjoyed engine repair work, spending time with his family, playing BINGO and going to the CASINO.

He was a former member of the VFW, and Moose lodge.

Paul is survived by his wife, Marlys Kitner, of Mason City; two daughters, Kim (Al) Conell, of Mason City and Tammy (Rodney) Graff, of Joice, Iowa; four grandchildren; nine great-grandsons; one brother, Marvin (Geneva) Kitner, and one sister, Jane Russ.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, two sisters and one brother.
