Melinda E. Ficken, 53, of Mason City, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Ed Bard officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel.

Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

Memorials may be given to the Melinda E. Ficken Memorial Fund in care of her family.

Melinda E. Ficken was born Nov. 28, 1962, at Mason City, a daughter of Laurence Ficken and Nancy Bailey. She worked in Mason City during her working career.

Melinda was a member of the Burkes Pool League.

She enjoyed crafting, playing pool, Harley-Davidsons and spending time with her family and friends.

Melinda is survived by her mother, Nancy (Paul) Bailey; three children, Sean Bass, Chris Bass, Amber Boyden; five grandchildren; two brothers, Dale (Chris) Ficken and Mark Whitten; two sisters, Laurie Chiarello and Angela (Don) Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Morgan; significant other, Louie Flores Sr.
