Steven Lee Francis, 61, of Mason City, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, with Rev. Rod Allers officiating and military honors provided by Mason City Veterans.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City. The family suggests memorials to the Steven L. Francis Memorial Fund.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Mason City.

Steve was born March 3, 1954, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Joyce (Miller) Francis. He attended Mason City Public Schools. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1971-1973.

He married Debbie Awe in 1975 and to this union two children were born, Tanya and Jeff. He worked various jobs in the Mason City area, most recently Minnesota Tire and Rubber.

He met Cindy Blumer in 1979 and to this union had three children, Hanna, Angela and Nick.

Steve enjoyed driving around, working on cars, I-35 stock car races, collecting Hot Wheels and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his mother, Joyce Francis, Mason City, Iowa; five children, Tanya (Brad) Dalluge, Grafton, Iowa, Jeff (Tina) Francis, Manly, Iowa, Hanna Blumer, Mason City, Iowa, Angela Francis, Mason City, Iowa and Nick Francis, Mason City, Iowa; stepdaughter, Heather Blumer, Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Mark (Jean) Francis, Hollister, Missouri, Dave Francis, Sheffield, Iowa, and Chip (Janet) Francis, Oxford, Iowa; one sister Dawn Francis, Mason City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father Cecil; wife Cindy; brother Gerald Francis and a grandson Christian Dalluge.
