Cecil Ernest Ringgenberg, 84, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Graveside service for Cecil and his wife, Jeanne, who died Feb. 1, 2004, will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Ventura Cemetery with Military Honors by the Clear Lake VFW.

Memorial services for Cecil and Jeanne Ringgenberg will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Ed Bard officiating.

Cecil was born May 12, 1920, the son of Lloyd and Antha Mae (Shuck) Ringgenberg at Ventura, Iowa. Cecil attended Ventura Schools and played trumpet in the High School Band. Cecil joined the Navy in 1942, serving in WWII on a submarine in the Atlantic. He also was in the Korean War and served in the Pacific stationed off shore near Masan, Korea.

Cecil married Jeanne Fuller on Dec. 8, 1945, at Royal Oak, Mich. Cecil worked in the meat packing department a Decker's, and later for Northwestern Cement as a drill operator. Cecil enjoyed fishing, Big Band music, his family and especially holiday get-togethers and reunions and the good food. He also was a private airplane pilot. Cecil was a lifetime member of the VFW of Clear Lake.

Cecil is survived by three sisters, Maxine Duclos, Clear Lake, Bertus Daniels and her husband, Bob, Hollandale, Minn. and Almeda Lewis and her husband, Lefty, Mason City; sister-in-law, Leona Kitchen, Traverse City, Mich. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeannie, on Feb. 1, 2004; a sister, Lucille Winters; niece's, Bonnie Al-Jazaf and Deborah Sawtelle, and a nephew, David Duclos.
