Elizabeth Lucy “Betty” Hoeft, 72, of Ventura, left the world Friday, June 10, 2016, to be in Heaven with Jesus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave. S., Clear Lake, with the Rev. John Gossman officiating. Burial will be in Ventura Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.
Family suggests memorial contributions to the Betty Hoeft Memorial Fund.
Betty was born on June 14, 1944, the daughter of George Edward and Catherine Eloise (Norris) Combs in Leonardtown, MD. She attended Little Flower School through the 8th grade before graduating from Great Mills High School in Maryland in 1962. She was united in marriage to Kirkely Henely and later moved to Iowa. To this union three sons were born. She married Robert “Bob” Hoeft who was devoted to her until the very end.
Betty worked at Winnebago for over 25 years. She loved reading, playing cards and flowers, in addition to spending time with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and collected small lamps, antique razors and red glass.
Betty is survived by her husband, Bob Hoeft of Clear Lake; three sons, Ronald “Ronnie” (Denise) Henely of Herrington, KS, Dennis (Linda) Henely of Rockford and Tracey (Eneida) Henely of Ventura; many grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Catherine “Sissie” Joan, Mary “Stella” Estelle, Doris “Dottie” Ann, Raymond “Ray” Anthony, David “Dink” Lee and Jeffrey “Jeff” Lloyd.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George “Larry” Lawrence and Stephen “Stevie” Alan.
