Michael P. Coty, 68, of Mason City, died Friday (July 15, 2016) at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday (July 20, 2016) at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, with Elder Paul H. Coty III officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery following the service at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (July 19, 2016) at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, as well as one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Michael Pierre Coty was born on July 5, 1948, in Mason City, a son of Paul Sr. and Spizie Coty. He attended Mason City schools before working for Servantez Construction, Holland Construction and Duesenberg Construction until he retired.
In his later years, Michael helped Pat with her business, Precious Moments Memorials. He also enjoyed reading, watching Westerns, listening to jazz music, and fishing.
Michael is survived by his significant other Pat Ferleman, Mason City, her children, Lori Ferleman, Mason City, and Lonnie (Ann) Ferleman, Springfield, MO, and her grandson, Anthony Holmes, Mason City; his siblings, Beverly Burrell, Cedar Rapids, Diana Bowers, Iowa City, Pauletta Kipper, Iowa City, Joe (Sharon) Coty, Chicago, IL, Andrea Coty, Omaha, NE, Caroline Coty, Mason City, and Pierre Coty, Minneapolis, MN; a sister-in-law, Francine Coty, Baltimore, MD; cousins, Clarence Turner, Mason City, Deborah Turner, Des Moines, and Delores Macer, Houston, TX; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Spizie Coty; his brothers, Ralph, Dwight and Paul Coty Jr.; a sister, Pauline Coty; and three brothers-in-law, Jimmy James Burrell, Paps Bowers and Roger “Butch” Kipper.
