September 07, 2017Marilyn Ruth Carolus, 80, of Harlingen, Texas, entered the gates of heaven on September 2nd, 2017.
She was born to the late Arthur and Hazel Craig, November 25, 1936, in Mason City, Iowa. Marilyn graduated from Mason City High School in 1954. She married the love of her life, Merlin Dean Carolus in 1954 and they lived happily together in Mason City, Iowa before relocating to Harlingen, Texas in 1985.
Marilyn spent countless hours baking goodies for her family, friends, and functions. She truly enjoyed sweetening everyone's day. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling, baking, sun tanning, swimming and followed the Nascar races.
Marilyn is survived by her spouse of almost 63 years, her greatest blessings are her four children: Timothy Merlin (Jane) of Texas, Debra Ann of New Mexico, Kelly Dean of Colorado and, Kevin Mike (Tani) of Mason City. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sara Jane Carolus, Alexis Rose and Benjamin Keith Jones, Mitchell, Steven, Tanner and Seth Carolus, nine great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren and one brother Larry Craig of Washington.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Marilyn Ruth Carolus. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be planned next spring in the family cemetery of her hometown in Iowa.
