MASON CITY -- Ardith Ann Carolus, 83, of Mason City, IA, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2502 South Jefferson Avenue, with Pastor Matthew Muters officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2017, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family of Ardith Ann Carolus. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com.

Ardy was born February 26, 1934, in Sheffield, IA, the daughter of William and Rose (Behm) Pinneke. She graduated from Mason City High School. On February 13, 1955, Ardy was united in marriage to Merwin Carolus at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Mason City. For 26 years she served Madison Elementary School as the Manager of the Cafeteria.

Ardy had many hobbies in life whether it be trout fishing, camping, going for motorcycle rides, snowmobiling, garage sale shopping or attending antique car shows. She was known by her family to always have a kind word for everyone, a loving heart, and had a reputation for being a good cook and baker. Ardy loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ardy is survived by her husband Merwin Carolus; sons Randy (Mildred) Carolus and Rick (Kim) Carolus; siblings Lawrence, Robert and Marian; grandchildren Katie, Abby, Raul; Great Grandchildren Kale, Brianna, Alex, Lily, Ian, Isabel, Zoey and Korbin.

Ardy was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 3 step-brothers.
