Funeral services for John (Dave) Cline, 76, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home March 26 with the Rev. Dale Marshall officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Don, Keith, Ron and Vernon Lamp, Paul Reuter and Bernal Shontz. Betty Vitense was organist. Full military rites were held at the graveside.

Mr. Cline died at his home in Tipton March 22.

The son of Charles W. and Zula F. Group Cline, he was born at Idaville, PA Jan. 9, 1908. He was married to Margaret (Peg) Bucher at Cedar Rapids June 25, 1937.

He moved to Clarence from Pennsylvania in 1918 and had been a resident of Tipton since 1935. He was a mechanic and operated Cline's Garage in Tipton until he retired.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served from Jan. 9 to Oct. 7, 1943. He was discharged as a sergeant. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Stroke club.

He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Bruce Dew, Cedar Rapids; 2 nieces, Mrs. Ronald Mingst, Clarence and Mrs. Ronald Goldsmith, Oskaloosa and a step-brother, Paul Rupp, Shirmanstown, PA. He was preceded in death by a sister.
