Thomas John Bents, 63, of LeClaire, IA passed away in his home on Saturday, July 3, 2021 with his wife, Nancy, and step-son, Keith, at his side. Cremation will be done with no services. Thomas was born in Iowa City, IA on October 19, 1957 to John and Mary Jean Bents. Tom attended Tipton High School in Tipton, Iowa graduating in 1976. Tom then moved to Davenport. He was a long time employee for the City of Bettendorf, retiring in March of 2021. Tom was an avid fisherman who loved fishing with his brothers and friends. Tom also loved camping and vacationing with his family in Minnesota. He was a great step-dad who spent many enjoyable times fishing and watching the races with Keith. Tom had many friends and will be dearly missed.

Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Bents; mother, Mary Jean Bents of Tipton, IA; daughter, Christine Bents of the Quad Cities; step-children, Keith (Augustin) Willhite, and Cindi Morthland of Hampton, IL; two grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Chuck) Bents of Cedar Rapids, IA and Joseph R. (Gina) Bents of Green Bay, WI; sisters, Patricia Jean (Tony) Christensen of Iowa City, IA and Sarah Marie Bents of Waterloo, IA; nieces and nephews, Jacob, Lindsay, John, Brandon, and Nicole.
