Requiem high mass for Mrs. Frank (Rose) Ruzek, 81, was held May 17 at St. Bernadette's Catholic church in West Branch, with the Rev. R. W. McCoy officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Ruzek died May 12 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Ruzek who resided most of her life in the West Branch area, was born Sept. 28, 1885 at Plzen, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Anton and Verna Kres. On Aug. 13, 1907 she married Frank J. Ruzek. They farmed north of West Branch for many years.

Mrs. Ruzek was a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Cedar Valley and most recently, after closing of the church there, a member of St. Bernadette's.

Survivors include her husband, 2 daughters, Mrs. Agnes Thompson and Mrs. Elizabeth Bobzein; a son, Louis B. Ruzek, all of West Branch; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Baloun, in Czechoslovakia.
