Funeral services for Mrs. William (Rose) Ruchotzki, 76, were held Dec. 26 in Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden, with the Rev. Arthur Tinge officiating. Mrs. Walter Helmold and Mrs. Floyd Hansen sang and Irma Strackbein was organist. Burial was in Pine Hill cemetery, north of Wheatland.

Pallbearers were Ralph and Elmer Ruchotzki, Ralph Theone, William Burgess, Otto Benischek and Walter Sterk. Mrs. Ralph Theone, Mrs. Elmer Ruchotzki and Mrs. Ralph Ruchotzki had charge of flowers.

Mrs. Ruchotzki died Dec. 23 at a nursing home in West Liberty.

The former Rose Lockenrice was born April 26, 1889, in German, the daughter of Albert and Whilimeni Lockenrice. She was educated in Germany and was married to Ernest Kierstein. In 1923 they came to the United States with their family. Mr. Kierstein died in 1930.

Mrs. Kirstein married William Ruchotzki Feb. 12, 1939 and they farmed near Lowden until 1945 when they moved to a farm near Smithtown.

She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden.

She is survived by her husband, 3 daughters, Mrs. Louis (Irma) Steinke and Mrs. William (Gertrude) Hensch Sr., both of Lowden and Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Dauber, Cedar Rapids, 2 stepsons, 4 stepdaughters, 32 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a grandson and great-grandson.
