Funeral services for Charles Dallas Sterner, 78, were held at Wilton Junction Sept. 16 with Rev. I. G. Wilkins officiating. Max Lauser was the vocalist, Mrs. Emma Birkofer the organist.

Pallbearers were Arthur Weibel, Leland Barkalow, Walter Timmsen, Philip Paul, Jake Davies, and Jacob Duffe. Flower attendants were Mrs. Leland Barkalow, Mrs. Walter Timmsen, and Mrs. Ray Wilkerson.

Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton Junction, with military rites by the Wilton American Legion Post 584.

Mr. Sterner died at the Hawker Nursing Home, West Liberty, Sept. 14 after an extended illness.

He was a retired laborer.

He was born in Cedar County and in 1917, he married the former Mae McQuillen in Mechanicsville.

Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Charles and Merle, both of Wilton Junction; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 brothers, Gale, Carl, Ivan and George, all of Wilton Junction, Lester, Muscatine, and Ralph, Iowa City.
