Lloyd L. Deutton, 72, a life-long resident of Durant died in Mercy Hospital in Davenport Aug. 12, following an extended illness.

Services were Aug. 16 in Durant with the Rev. Richard Anderson of St. Paul's Episcopal church officiating.

Mr. Deutton was born in Durant July 10, 1893, the son of Samuel A. and Margaret Deutton.

He was a veteran of World War I and a charter member of the Durant American Legion post.

He farmed until retiring in 1950.

One brother, Gilbert, of Marion, Iowa, survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Military services were conducted by the Legion in the funeral home following the services.

The body was cremated at the Fairmount Crematoria in Davenport, and remains buried in the Durant cemetery.
