Funeral services were held for Charles L. Hanlon, 74, Saturday afternoon at the Stanwood Methodist church with the Rev. Donald Campbell in charge. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery with Masonic graveside services.

Mr. Hanlon died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Irwin Toerber, in Stanwood Sept. 11.

Charles L. Hanlon, the son of Cornelius and Martha McGinnis Hanlon, was born March 1, 1884, on a farm near Stanwood and lived his entire life in the Stanwood community except 14 years in Wyoming.

He was married to Vena Grell June 29, 1910. Four daughters and three sons were born to them. One son, Howard, died in 1927. Mrs. Hanlon died in 1939.

Surviving children are: Robert, Peoria, Ill., James, Elgin, Ill., Eleanor (Mrs. Irwin Toerber), Stanwood; Gladys (Mrs. Grant Johnson), Newton, Dorothy, (Mrs. William McBride), Seattle, Wash., and Charlene (Mrs. Loren Hora), Moline, Ill. There are also 13 grandsons surviving.

Pallbearers were Ray Hein, Hugo Hein, Max Coppess, Willis McGuire, Glenn Tenley, and Ernest Von Behren. Mrs. Ronald Spear and Mrs. Cecil Spear were in charge of flowers.
