Lydia Webster Michener, daughter of Chas. and Sarah Webster was born at Barnesville, Ohio, Sept. 15, 1844 and died at the home of her son, William, in West Branch, Ia. April 5th, 1917, age 72 years, 6 months and 21 days. She moved to Iowa when 16 years of age settling near Centerdale and having made her home in this locality ever since. She leaves to mourn her loss two brothers, John and Lon Webster of West Liberty, two sisters, Mrs. T. T. Barrington and Mrs. Mary Barns of California.

She was the mother of nine children: Rena Hemmingway of Chicago, Nellie Meadows of Estherville, Ia., Laura Hollingsworth of California, Frank of Cedar Rapids, John of Oelwein, Alvin of Webster City and Chas. and Wm. of West Branch together with 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren survive to mourn the loss of a loving mother and grandmother. One daughter, Mattie Ross, preceeded her in death two years ago. She was a member of the M. E. Church having been received into membership Sept. 5th, 1886, when Rev. Wolfe was pastor.

The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the residence of her son, William, Rev. I. A. Bartholomew of the M.E. Church conducting the services. Interment in the West Branch cemetery.
