The following obituary we clip from the Yellowstone Daily Journal of Miles City, Mont. Robt. E. Campbell was an old time and well known resident in this locality, having conducted a blacksmith shop three miles north of this place for a number of years and will be remembered by most of the older residents of our town:

"The funeral of Robert E. Campbell, who died Saturday night at midnight, took place this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence at 7th and Bridge streets. A large concourse of sorrowing friends gathered to hear the last words over the departed, which were spoken by Rev. E. M. Calvin, and to administer whatever of comfort was possible by sympathetic hearts. The death was due to the gradual disintegration of the forces of nature as deceased had outlived the allotted three score and ten, by five years, being born at Harrisburg, Pa., in 1827. In the year 1852 he married Miss Elizabeth Thompson of Pittsburg, Pa., and on May 26, of this year, the couple had planned to celebrate their golden wedding. Six daughters were born to this union, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Erastus Haynes, Mrs. Jos. Eichorn, Mrs. Arthur Hammell, Mrs. Frank Embree, Mrs. George H. McKay, and Mrs. C. M. Martindale. Deceased came to Miles City in 1881 and pursued his vocation of blacksmith with success until the advancing years compelled him to retire from active labor. Notwithstanding the drizzling rain and general disagreeablenss of the weather, a goodly number of acquaintances, accumulated in a long and continuous residence in the city, followed the remains to their last resting place.
