Howard P. Carson died at the home of his nephew, W. C. Jack, near Centerdale, March 16, 1902, and was buried at Oasis cemetery on the 18th inst., services being held in the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Geo. Furniss. The deceased was born in Warren county, Ohio, Nov. 1828 and came to Iowa in the year 1854, since which time he has been a continuous resident of the state. In 1860 he went blind but afterwards regained his sight partially, though never fully. He was the last of nine children to the world beyond. Patiently he bore his afflictions until the change came. Since 1880 his home was with his nephew, W. C. Jack. There are three nephews and three nieces left to mourn their loss.
