13 October 1904 - West Branch Times

Wm. Bremner was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, in the year 1838, and died at West Branch, Oct. 4, 1904.

While only a child of three years he removed with his parents to the United States, settling for a number of years in New England. He came to the state of Iowa in the year 1856, where afterward the whole of his life was spent, and nearly all in the county of Cedar. For 23 years he was in business in West Branch, which he only disposed of in the early summer of the present year, because of failing health. In 1866 he was united in marriage to Anna M. Hirst, of which union were born two daughters, who, with the mother, are left to mourn their loss. For upwards of 30 years he had been an active and consistent church member, joining first the M.E. church, and latterly belonging to the Presbyterian church of West Branch, of which church for several years he was a ruling Elder.

The funeral took place on Oct. 6th, at West Branch. Services were held in the Presbyterian church at which his former pastor, Rev. G. Furniss, officiated.
