The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Atkinson, former residents of Iowa township, were shocked to hear of the terrible death of their little daughter, Jane Ellen, who was fatally burned at her home near Albia, Febr. 26, dying March 4, She was interred in the Rochester cemetery last Friday. It appears that her folks had been burning rubbish in the yard, and had, as they supposed, extinguished the fire, but some of the neighbor children in company with little Ellen, revived the fire, resulting in the child's clothes catching fire.
