15 October 1908 - West Branch Times

Ann Albin was born at Smyrna, Delaware, March 23rd, 1825. Her parents were George and Ann Messick, her father being a minister of the Society of Friends.

She came to Cedar County, Iowa, in the pioneer days of the early forties. Was married to George Albin in the year 1847. She was the mother of nine children, six of whom preceded her in death.

With her work all done, and well done, she went peacefully away to the great beyond on the evening of Oct. 10, 1908. Aged 83 years, 6 months and 18 days. She was a faithful member of the M.E. Church for over 70 years. Her life was one of devotion to the performance of every duty to God and her family, and for anyone in distress she was ever ready with sympathy and help. She went away in the confident hope of an eternity with her Saviour. She simply said "I am going home."

The funeral was held from the home of her son, F. A. Albin, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. Linn, pastor of the M.E. Church and burial was at the Oasis cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her husband, who preceded her to that better world many years.
