Mrs. Mary Francis Van Dusen was born in Woodford county, Illinois, March 11, 1865, and died July 6, 1917 at her home in West Branch.

She was never very robust and had been in very poor health the past five years. A year ago she was taken quite sick with stomach and heart trouble at her old home in Lacon, Ill. But in a few weeks she became able to be up and around again and with her husband and youngest son they moved from Illinois here in the hopes that the change would be beneficial to her health, but in a short time she began to grow weaker and every thing that tender hearts and loving hands could do was done for her but to no avail. Her Saviour called her and she left her loved ones here to be with him up there.

Her husband and three sons, Elmer and Adrian at home and Silas of Pamona, California, besides several step-children and grandchildren and other relatives and friends are left to mourn the loss of this loving wife and mother. Her only daughter, Ina preceded her in death four years ago.

Funeral services were conducted at the house by Mrs. Laura Townsend at 2:30 Saturday afternoon and from there she was taken back to her old home in Illinois for burial.
