Mr. James Morain was born Feb. 24th 1828, died June 6, 1897, aged 69 years, 3 mos and 12 da. He was united in marriage with Sarah Catherine Lipe in the year 1851. To this union ten children were born, eight of whom are still living.

Mr. Morain's illness has been of long duration and no doubt he suffered more than any of us realized. He could not tell us of his sufferings, as his powers of mind had become so enfeebled. We know not the struggles he may have experienced. He was a man of very sympathetic nature, a good neighbor and friend, kind to his fellowmen and always ready to lend a helping hand to any and every good cause. His good wife had preceded him about two months to the world beyond. Seldom are children called upon to bear the loss of both parents within so short a time. May the consolation of Christ sustain and strengthen them in time of sorrow.
