Elizabeth Loercher was born in Schwanee, Johnson county, Kans., Jan. 16, 1880. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in infancy and confirmed in that faith in 1905, to which confirmation she has since been faithful.

She was married to Wm. McCaleb, December 29, 1909, and since then has made her home in and near West Branch.

She died Nov. 1, 1915, and leaves to mourn her departure her husband and two stepdaughters, May aged 12 and Grace aged 14, brothers Henry of West Branch and John of Marion and sisters, Mrs. Christena Wolfe of Springhill, Kansas, Mrs. Maggie Roland of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Annie Stretor of Marion, Kansas, Mrs. Emma Coker of Marion, Kansas, Mrs. Rosa Boehn of Hillsdale, Kansas, all of whom attended the funeral except the two sisters, Annie and Emma. A niece, Miss C. Roland, of Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Evans of Lamont and Mrs. C. Clemens were here also.

The funeral, which was largely attended, was held from the house at 1:00 p.m. and from the Presbyterian church at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, 1915. The floral offerings were profuse. The interment was in the West Branch cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. J. A. McCulloch, pastor of the Iowa City Lutheran church.
