Mrs. O. H. Kahler, nee Miss Susie Fankhauser, was born in Cedar Bluff, Iowa, Aug. 24th, 1877. She was married to O. H. Kahler in Iowa City, Feb. 25th, 1902. She has resided with her husband in the city of Waterloo much of her married life. She died at the Presbyterian hospital at that place Wednesday, Jan.7, 1914, aged 36 years, 4 months and 13 days. She leaves a husband and a new born daughter, Mildred Adlin, her mother, Mrs. Wm. Fankhauser, two sisters--Mrs. David Palmer of Tipton, and Mrs. Philip C. Lehman of West Branch, and four brothers--Robert C. Fankhauser of Prosser, Wash., Otus W. and Abner L. Fankhauser of Cedar Bluff, and G. L. Fankhauser of Lisbon, Iowa.

The remains were brought to Cedar Bluff Saturday morning, Jan. 10, where the funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at the old home. Rev. J. N. Naly of Tipton, officiating. The music was furnished by a male quartet. Many beautiful floral offerings covered the casket in token of the respect and high regard of her many friends. The body was laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery at Cedar Bluff.
