20 June 1895 - West Branch Times

DIED On the 16th inst, Etta, wife of H. A. Kremp, aged 30 years and 4 months. Her health had been very frail for more than a year being afflicted with consumption. She left her home in Burdette, Ia., some months ago and came to West Branch to be with her sisters Mrs. A. V. Mills and Mrs. Thomas. Gruwell where she seemed to be improving until on Tuesday the 11th, at the home of the latter, she was taken worse. Her husband arrived Wednesday evening only to find her beyond the reach of human skill, she passed peacefully away at 7 o'clock Sunday morning. Etta was the daughter of Thos. and Dorcas Reeves, the former deceased, and was born and raised in this community, she was educated at West Branch, was always a quiet unassuming girl, trusty and exemplary in character to which we can truly attest as she was for about three years an assistant in the TIMES office. As a member of the Congregational church she was active and loyal, a prominent member of the L.A.S. she evinced her unsparing devotion in the work of raising the means to erect a commodious church in the village of her home. There was a large attendance at the funeral held in the Presbyterian church Tuesday at 11 a.m. Services were conducted by Rev. Furniss who preached hope in the gospel of Jesus.
