DIED--At his home in West Branch Oct. 16th 1895. James Kerr of paralysis. Funeral tomorrow at 2:30 P.M. in the M.E. church.

Died, Oct. 16th, 1895, James Kerr aged 79 years 2 mos. and 14 days. He was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, August 2nd 1816. He was the last of the family of seven children, which consisted of four boys and three girls, who lived to be quite old with the exception of one sister who died at the age of thirty. James Kerr was married to Elizabeth Eaten, Nov. 4th 1840. There was born to them one son George E., who only lived to be 7 months and 20 days old. The mother died Dec. 9th, 1841. He was married again to Mary Bock Sept. 4th 1845. There was born to them four children, one son and three daughters. The son, Survantus having died June 11th 1887, since which grandpa has been failing. The family moved to Iowa in the fall of 1877, grandpa driving across the country alone. They have lived in this vicinity of West Branch ever since. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Sept. 4th, 1895, at which time he was very feeble. He has been a consistent member of the Methodist church for 30 years, preceeding this time, he was a member of the Presbyterian church a number of years.
