7 March 1895 - West Branch Times

DIED OF Consumption, February 17, 1895, Anna R. Cope, daughter of Amos and Elizabeth Cope, aged 21 years, 8 months and 21 days. She was born in Cedar Co., Iowa, April 9th, 1878. She, with her parents, traveled to Jasper county in 1878, where she has resided ever since. She had three brothers and two sisters, of which two sisters and one brother passed over the river before. Father, mother and two brothers--Wm A and Pearson T.--still remain to mourn her loss. In early life she gave her heart to the Lord and has since been about her Master's work. She was a member of the Society of Friends and an active member of the C.E. In sickness, though a great sufferer, she was always patient and loving. The burden of her soul was that her young friends might take up their daily cross and follow the Master. As she neared the end she spoke of seeing the angels and longed to be with them. Her only trouble was in leaving her parents in their lonliness to mourn her loss. She gently fell asleep to wake in glory. "Blessed be the dead that die in the Lord and their works do follow them." --Kelloge Enterprise.
