Maria Hemingway died at her home on Orange avenue early last Sunday morning. The immediate cause of her death was a relapse of lung trouble from which she suffered a long and severe attack last fall and had not entirely recovered her strength. She was in the 66th year of her age and leaves three sons and one daughter. She was born in Green county Pennsylvania March 29, 1827 and moved with her parents to Iowa in 1846, united in marriage with Eleazer Hemingway in 1849. Funeral services were held in Springdale where her body was laid to rest Tuesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. J. Y. Hoover who spoke from the words found in the 19 verse of the 15th chapter of I Cor. "If in this life only, we have hoped in Christ we are of all men most to be pitied."
