A particularly pitiful accident occurred last Thursday evening when little Hubert, the eighteen months old child of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Anderson, fell in a tank containing sixteen inches of water at their country home northeast of town.

A pulmoter was rushed from Iowa City and every possible means was used in an attempt at resuscitation, but to no avail.

Surviving are the parents and a sister, Dorothy, aged five years.

Funeral services were held at the home Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. W. G. Rowley, and the little one was laid away in the city on the hill.

The sympathy of the entire community goes forth to the family thus suddenly bereft.

Hubert H. Anderson, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Anderson, was born March 13, 1921, and passed away Aug. 31, 1922. The little life was only scarcely commenced, but it was very busy with the many journeys of the little feet and the planning of a bright little mind. It may be that this flower with such wonderful promise was too fair for this world with all its dust and noise and temptations. This little soul that had just commenced to bloom in this life has gone to that better world where the flowers never fade and where death is no more. It was of such that Christ spoke when he said, "Except ye become as little children." Time and words cannot recite what this little messenger from God has taught in his short journey, but how rich the life of an adult would be if he could teach a message half as pure and good. God has promised that he will keep that which we commit to his care. These sorrowing parents now have a treasure in heaven. The God of infinite love and tenderness will keep that treasure for them until they claim him face to face.

The funeral service was at the home last Saturday morning. Rev. W. G. Rowley of the Methodist church, who baptized the baby last Easter, officiated. Interment was in the beautiful cemetery besides the baby's grandmother.
