Mrs. Mary Olsen, aged 76, died at the home of her son, J. C. Olsen, this morning at 6:45 o'clock. She is survived by her two sons, N. P. and J. C. Olsen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Danish Lutheran church, interment in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Marie Olsen, born Petersen, was born August 30, 1844, nearby the village of Terslose, Zealand, Denmark. She was united in marriage to Niels Peter Olsen in 1874 by the famous pastor, Wilh. Beck. To this union was born three sons of which the first born died in Denmark in 1879. In 1884 the family immigrated to America and came to Independence, Iowa. After a short stay there they moved to Cedar Falls and later to Nevada.

Olsen and his wife were both converted, as young people, to the true faith in Christ before they were married. In 1888 they moved from Nevada to West Branch, Iowa.

Mr. Olsen and his wife carried on missionary work among their countrymen where ever they lived, both here and in Denmark.

Mrs. Olsen has been a widow since June 20, 1902, and has lived nearby or in West Branch ever since. She died from a stroke of paralysis Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 1921, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 25 days. She arrived at a good age and leaves behind her two sons, N. P. Olsen and J. C. Olsen and their families and many friends in town and country.

She rejoiced in the Lord, may she abide with him forever. Laid to rest the 26th day of February, 1921, in West Branch, Iowa.
