Funeral services for George A. Fisher, 84, were held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church, with Rev. P. J. Casey offering the Requiem Mass.

Mr. Fisher died Sunday evening, April 30, in the Anamosa Community hospital, Anamosa, where he had been a patient for more than 2 weeks. He had been in failing health for the past year.

George Allen Fisher was born the son of Godfrey and Emily Fisher in Sunset, Ohio, on August 2, 1882. The family moved to Iowa when he was a small child. He received his education in the Pioneer country schools.

He was married to Bessie Mary Robinson on Jan. 24, 1905, in St. Mary's church and they farmed all their lives north of Mechanicsville. Mrs. Fisher preceded him in death Jan. 17 of this year.

Mr. Fisher was a member of St. Mary's church and of the Holy Name Society.

He is survived by a son, Albert G. Fisher, and seven daughters, Mary, at home; Mrs. Adelbert (Bertha) Reid; Mrs. Leo (Alice) Driscoll; Mrs. David (Eldora) Driscoll, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ervin (Betty) Johnson; Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie) Varva, Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Lewis (Allene) Turner, Ottumwa.

His wife, Bessie, an infant son and daughter preceded him in death.

Arthur Saum, Edward Crock, Ben Dennis, Victor Robinson, Haorld Fisher and Raymond Fisher were pallbearers.

Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Horner Funeral Service in charge.
