10 August 1911 - West Branch Times

Mrs. Lucy A. Yetter passed away Friday evening, Aug. 4, at the ripe old age of 88 years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Thompson, 415 South Lucas street, Iowa City.

Mrs. Yetter's maiden name was Lucy Iseman and she was born in Westmoreland county, Penn., on Feb. 9, 1828. At the age of twenty she married B. F. Yetter, who died twenty years ago. Mrs. Yetter was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom survive her. The immediate cause of Mrs. Yetter's death was a stroke of apoplexy with which she was stricken last Tuesday. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and had always been much interested in church work. Five sons and two daughters survive her to mourn the loss of a kindly hearted mother. They are: Rev. Wm. Yetter of Missouri; Rev. Marshall Yetter of Kansas; Albert Yetter of Cozad, Nebr.; Chas. Yetter of Cedar Rapids; Jas. F. Yetter of this place; Mrs. E. C. Harris of Pasadena, Cal.; Mrs. C. W. Thompson of Iowa City. All were here for the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Harris. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. A. Montgomery. Burial was in the family lot in the West Branch cemetery.

The deceased was a resident of West Branch for years and many friends will offer consolation as was evidenced by the large number attending the funeral.
