Alice Leora Moore, oldest child of Robert H. and Florence Moore, was born Sept. 21, 1907, on a farm near West Branch, Iowa. Her entire life was spent in this community. She attended West Branch high school and was a member of the class of 1925.

On Sept. 23, 1925, she was united in marriage to Alvin K. Sorensen of West Branch, Iowa. To this union one child was born, Betty Jean, now 4 years old.

About two years ago, Alice became afflicted with a serious illness. Everything that loved ones could do was done for her, but to no avail. She continued to suffer until she was broken in body and mind, and, on the night of Jan. 16, 1931, she met with the tragic death, that came as a shock to her loved ones and friends.

She leaves to mourn her loss, besides her husband and little daughter and her parents, many relatives and a host of friends.

Such a sad and tragic end coming to one, whose life such a short time ago, was so filled with youth and energy and promise, brings a grief that is engulfing to the loved ones that are left behind, and only the gentle wearing waves of time can heal the hearts that were crushed.

And from those of this community who knew of the brave fight put up by this young life against the ravages of disease and of the untiring efforts and of the sacrifices made by those near and dear to her, that her health might be regained, there comes only the kindest and most tender heartfelt expressions of sympathy and human understanding.
