Funeral services for Robert E. Mixell, 93, Davenport, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home May 30 with the Rev. Matthew Martens officiating. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery.

Mr. Mixell died at the Americana Health Care Center, Davenport, May 27, following a brief illness.

Pallbearers were Chuck Harmon, Howard Hunt, Chalmer Firrell, Nick Mixell, Roger Willey and Martin Jones.

The son of John and Sarrah Barrack Mixell, he was born at Harrisburg, Pa. Oct. 9, 1885 and was married to Anna Edler in 1908.

Mr. Mixell farmed in the Tipton area until his retirement.

He is survived by 5 daughters, Mrs. Edward (Mae) Elwood, Estherville; Mrs. Joe (Dorothy) Walters, Armstrong; Mrs. Perry (Fern) Holladay, Buffalo; Mrs. Ernie (Anne) Holladay, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Horstmann, Durant; a son, John, Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harry, Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 daughters, a son, a sister and 5 brothers.
