30 May 1935 - The Tipton Advertiser

James, the young son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mitzner, passed away at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Monday morning.

Mr. Mitzner, the bereaved father, submits the brief life story.

James Joseph Mitzner was born on January 10th, 1934, at Tipton, Iowa.

To his parents, brothers and friends he was known as "Jimmy". He bounded into this world giving smiles and joy wherever he went.

A short time ago he stumbled, not over a block, rug or his little rocking chair, but a little germ that no eye could see or suspect. For two weeks he struggled with this dread germ. The last week he was assisted by trained nurses, two doctors and his parents but to no avail. On Monday morning, May 27th, 1935, the little germs compelled the sunny spirit to leave the body.

The last three days were spent at St. Luke's hospital at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Interment was made at the Masonic Cemetery on May 28, 1935, at 2:45 p.m. He leaves to mourn, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Mitzner, three brothers, Richard, Robert, and Raymond; three grandparents, together with other relatives and friends.

No little "Jimmy" greets his father now, when he enters the home, asking to be taken on the Giant swing or be placed in his high chair for his meal.

No little "Jimmy" calls to his mother now, asking her to minister to his little physical wants, or to watch him "peek".

His going has built a bond of sympathy with all those who have passed through a like experience.
