Anders Peter Swensen was born April 4, 1854, at Sjaelland, Denmark. He died Friday afternoon, July 11, 1930, in his home near Springdale, Ia. at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 7 days.

He came to this country in 1882. In 1884 he was united in marriage with Maren Christina Pedersen. To their union one son was born, Thomas Christian, March 20, 1884. They have lived on the farm near Springdale during these years of happy wedlock.

Mr. Swensen had been in good health the most of his life until he was stricken with his last illness four weeks ago. The 16th of June was the last day he was able to work on the farm.

He was among the first Danish people who established the Lutheran church at West Branch. He will be missed by his wife and son and a host of friends. May the Lord bless his memories and comfort his bereaved dear ones.

Services were held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday, July 13, at the Lutheran church, Rev. A. E. Christiansen officiating. Burial was in the local cemetery.
