Mrs. Ervie E. Young, daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Beard, Cedar county pioneers, died Sunday in the Jane Lamb hospital at Clinton, where she had been ill two years. She was born in West Branch, Iowa, Oct. 10, 1869, and was married to Mr. Young April 3, 1902. They moved to Clinton and have since made that their home.

Mrs. Young leaves her husband, a son, Robert, a daughter Ora, and a grandson, Robert John Young, all of Clinton; two brothers, Fred and Walter Beard of West Branch; a sister, Mrs. Charles Morgan, Swan, Ia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Rockwell mortuary and burial was in Springdale cemetery. Dr. J. M. Duer, Presbyterian, officiated.
