Samuel Branson, 81, died at his home at Salina, Kans., at noon Tuesday, April 29, following an illness which resulted from two paralytic strokes. Funeral arrangements have not been announced here, as yet, but he will, no doubt, be buried at Salina.

Mr. Branson was a brother of Newton Branson of West Branch, and was for many years a resident of this place, later moving to Oskaloosa where he resided for a long time, going from there to Kansas.

Mrs. Branson, who was a sister of Mrs. Ella Barnes, preceded him in death some years ago.
