Funeral services for Efra Maxson, 89, West Liberty, were held July 26 at the Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty, with burial in the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mrs. Maxson died July 23 at the Simpson Memorial Home following an extended illness.

The daughter of Christian and Johanna Carstensen Madsen, she was born Nov. 9, 1895 in Cedar county. She married Lafayette Maxson Nov. 2, 1915 in Johnson county. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Rebekah Lodge.

Mrs. Maxson is survived by 2 sons, Harvey, Filer, Idaho and Vernon, Moline, Ill.; a daughter, Evelyn MacGowan; West Liberty; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers and one sister.
